As Director of Program Planning for APTi's Chapter Development Council (2012-14), he helped to make the monthly chapter leader meetings more educational and useful to the leaders. He also presented to the chapter leaders on best practices for recruiting volunteers and for managing chapter finances.
Additionally, Adam has served on the Board of Governors of the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco. He has written about Type and analytical psychology for the Bulletin of Psychological Type, Personality Type in Depth, and The Journal of Analytical Psychology.
In the San Francisco Bay Area Adam has presented about Type to a number of APT chapters and to various non-APTi audiences, including the Analytical Psychology Club, the Dream Institute of Northern California, and annually at the James G. Whitney Clinic of the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco.
Visiting China each year since 2012, Adam has taught Type to psychology students at City University of Macau, South China Normal University in Guangzhou, and Fudan University in Shanghai and throughout the International Association for Analytical Psychology's Developing Group in Beijing. He has presented about business applications of Type for Skill & Will, the MBTI's distributor in Guangzhou and Shanghai. This year, he will be co-teaching Psychological Types in Depth, a ten-unit webinar for psychology students in China and a two-day workshop on Type and Resilience in Macau.
Adam attributes his passion for Type to his mother, with INFP preferences, who taught him that everyone has some kind of potential. He believes that everyone should be taught Type basics by junior high, because that is the age when we seem to want to start demonizing those who are different from us. Adolescence is the age when people most need to be accurately mirrored, and Type is a great tool to help us do that.
When he isn’t engaged in Type related activities, Adam enjoys the arts--playing piano and singing, appreciating painting and movies, writing and reading fiction. Adam lives in San Francisco and has preferences for ISFJ.
