The underlying premise of Contextual Coaching is that individuals require different styles of coaching depending on the specific task or context in which they are working. By adjusting the goals and approach of the coaching conversation, we can enable the individual to more rapidly develop new skills, capitalize on existing strengths and raise overall performance. Contextual Coaching is a coaching methodology that integrates a performance development model with different styles of coaching conversation. The coaching conversations are based on Linda Berens' Interaction Styles Model, which integrates with the MBTI®. We will use card sorts, group exercises, demos, and case studies to ensure a relevant and hands-on learning environment. In this session, you will learn: • a process for learning new skills and enhancing existing talents • how Interaction Styles might influence your innate coaching approach • to adapt the energy, style and approach of the coaching conversation to better meet the client’s needs Susan M.
