Carol Shumate, PhD, has been an instructor at Pacifica Graduate Institute for more than a decade. Her book Projection and Personality Development via the Eight-Function Model (Routledge 2021) shows how projection is linked to individuation and can act as a guide to development and self-fulfillment. She is currently working on a book with the working title Trickster Strategies for a Narcissistic Culture. She edits the journal Personality Type in Depth which she launched in 2010. In 2020 she helped launch the Depth Typology Center, created to archive scholarly resources in typology.
