About Us

Experience Psychological Type with Typology Exchange

If you have ever felt that typology should go deeper than surface descriptions, tests, or labels, you are not alone. At Typology Exchange knowledge alone is not the goal. Application matters.

We exist to bring personality theory into everyday life. Our focus is on how psychological type shows up in real decisions, relationships, work, and personal development. The aim is not to collect information, but to help people recognize patterns, test ideas, and develop clearer self-understanding.

Participation is flexible by design. Members may engage actively or reflect quietly. Both are welcome here.

We Go Beyond Type Descriptions

We are devoted to the development of the whole personality across the lifespan. Type is not treated as an identity badge or a static label.

Instead, psychological type is approached as a dynamic system that reveals strengths, blind spots, habitual patterns, and growth edges over time. The emphasis is on discernment and development rather than categorization or certainty.

We Appreciate Depth and Enjoy the Investigation

We value intellectual seriousness, psychological nuance, and respectful inquiry.

Typology helps illuminate misunderstanding, miscommunication, and misapplication between people. These conversations are approached with curiosity and clarity, not judgment. A sense of perspective and appropriate humor is welcome, while maintaining psychological respect.

Inquiry is encouraged. Performance is not required.

How Learning Happens

We offer programs and facilitated learning spaces that help members apply typology to real situations. Experiences may include guided reflection prompts, scenario-based exploration, and structured discussion formats.

Engagement is always optional and varied. Our learning environments are designed to support both introverted and extraverted styles, as well as thinking- and feeling-oriented approaches.

Meet the Field’s Leading Voices

We host speakers and educators who have shaped the field of psychological type. Presentations are designed as learning experiences rather than promotional showcases.

We prioritize presenters who can speak to both theory and application while honoring the complexity of personality.

Rooted in Jung, Open to the Evolution of Typology

Psychological type did not emerge fully formed, and neither should our understanding of it.

We're grounded in Carl Jung’s original model of typology and engages later developments, including cognitive functions, archetypal dynamics, and Dr. John Beebe’s eight-function framework. We view typology as a living body of work that benefits from ongoing study and responsible application.

Typology as a Guide to Personal Integrity

Because typology shapes how people understand themselves and others, Typology Exchange upholds clear ethical standards. We avoid misuse and stereotyping, encourage discernment over certainty, and emphasize development over fixation. Our work aligns with established ethical guidelines within the field, including those articulated by the MBTI Foundation.
