Event Objectives

1. Deepen your understanding of personality theories.

2. What kind of entities are the functions of type?

3. What challenges are there in defining their key attributes?

4. How might their existence be supported by reference to modern psychology theory?

Questions that may be covered during this event include:

  • How do the functions differ from traits?

  • Why do function definitions vary so widely?

  • What is the core phenomenology of the 8 functions?

  • Why is it difficult to convince trait fundamentalists about functions?

  • What ideas and research are there to build on for the future?

Please note that this event has been designed for people who already have a basic understanding of the cognitive functions.
