Overview

This seminar elevates the importance of factoring in "cultural bios" as they intersect with personality type. People with multicultural backgrounds can sometimes take longer to land on their "best fit" set of type preferences. Why might this be true? Through the lens of 3 multicultural panelists, we will explore how their cultural backgrounds explain this. Their life stories inform us of how they have personally navigated this issue for themselves.

Takeaways

By listening to three individuals with multicultural backgrounds share their life stories, participants will:

  1. Foster greater understanding of the cultural impact of landing on one's own "best fit" type - as well as self-affirmation.

  2. Factor in cultural variables: values, behaviors, expectations, norms, as well as any historical past.

  3. Recognize the different challenges that multicultural people face - a primary challenge being the internal conflict among their various sets of values.

  4. Appreciate that their experiences may have been negative and/or difficult.

  5. Customize a third framework to be more relevant to an individual.

  6. Learn to map 4 Meta Cultural Orientations to the correct Dominant Function.
