About the event

Overview

Nathan Wong
Nathan Wong

The main purpose of this workshop is to introduce the 8 cognitive functions—namely, Se, Si, Ne, Ni, Te, Ti, Fe, and Fi—and provide a taste of their depth and influence.

We'll explore some or all of the following:

  • What the functions “are” and how they can operate.

  • The elegant symmetries and mechanisms that scaffold them. (For instance, why there are 8 of 'em.)

  • Lots of homemade diagrams! That illustrate frameworks and concepts based on my personal interpretations of the functions—including resonant and dissonant functions, the inflow / outflow cycle, etc.

  • How to deepen your understanding of the functions over time.

  • Reasons why I feel it’s worth making the effort to study them.

To that last point: while it can take only a moment to read a definition, it often takes much longer—arguably a lifetime!—to truly "comprehend" and appreciate the functions.

The way I see it, comprehending the functions is a lifestyle! It includes witnessing them as they play out in real time, and reflecting on how they operate and interact with each other. Admittedly, this can take time and effort. But this process can enrich your life and transform any experience into an opportunity for greater and more satisfying awareness.

Who is this event intended for?

This event is designed to be valuable for those who are completely new to the cognitive functions, those who have been observing them for years, and anyone "in between." If you consider yourself to be in the 2nd group, you’ll (ideally!) encounter new ways of interpreting function-interactions.

Perspective Acknowledgment
