If you've been to many BAAPT meetings, you know Rob as our "token Sensing Type" (Rob has preferences for ESTP). You may also be aware that Rob has recently been our Operations manager and currently serves as BAAPT president. That's a lot, but there's more that you may not know about Rob! Here's some background in his own words: |
My type life has been a long and fulfilling one. I have been involved in type since 1985, some 30 years now. Before our minister for the church in Half Moon Bay would marry Diane and me, he required us to take the MBTI®. At that time I had no idea what that meant or how it would change my life.
The results were very clarifying and illuminating for both our individual type preferences, and as a couple. Many things I did not understand about Diane (INFJ) were explained, and my own behavior started to be revealed using those four letters, ESTP. I think that our mutual understanding of type contributed greatly to our successful marriage.
Then in February 1999 Diane and I were on the BAAPT Valentine’s Day couples panel, Opposites Attract. After that wonderful experience I found myself attending every monthly meeting. Since my type is not well represented I was the “touch stone” for sensing.
I continue to experience BAAPT for the insight and intellectual stimulation that is so valuable at each meeting. Not only do the speakers create value, but the members also contribute to my connection to type and our community. Now serving as the President of the Board I feel humbled by the work all the board members contribute to maintain this chapter as a hallmark of all the chapters.
When not at BAAPT I have extended my day job as an inspector to consulting and assisting my clients in regulatory compliance. I am a part-time instructor at Mission College in Santa Clara educating my students on the laws and regulations governing underground and above ground storage tanks. I have my outdoor aviary with my beautiful singing finches that I continue to collect. And, of course, driving my Nissan GTR as seen in Furious Seven.

(I'm guessing that Rob hasn't yet driven his Nissan backwards out of an airplane, but as an SP... he may dream about it! -- Vicki)
