Overview

This event centres around a proposed premise, that we sometimes struggle to reach a healthier stage of development (for any particular given cognitive function) because there’s something our psyche is struggling to “let go” of. But letting go of something is not the same as actually integrating it. We'll explore, through facilitated conversation and interactive activities, how can we do both: let go of and integrate content in our ego and/or persona.
This event features relatively little by way of presentation-based learning. The focus instead is to hold space for heart-centred dialogue, connecting deeply, reflecting, and sharing life’s experiences.
You’ll be guided through a series of 5 breakout and full-group discussions, interspersed with a few grounding and reflection exercises. Everything's strung together in a sequence designed like a “mini-psychological/hero’s journey,” inspired by a quote from Roy T. Bennett: “Let go of something old that no longer serves you in order to make room for something new."
Takeaways & Intentions
First, we’ll be invited to reflect on our life, both in its current state and across the past year, using the Functional Wheel of Wellness!
Then we’ll each identify an area of growth. Using this for context, we will:
Discuss how our cognitive functions, personas, and egos “dance” with each other.
Pinpoint the ways in which the “dance” may malfunction, or become too “one-sided.”
Envision healthier ways of using our persona, ego, and functions, using some of Beebe's function-keywords (the 16 we're explored so far,) for inspiration and assistance.

🎥 This event will be recorded. The recording will be sent to all registrants, 2-4 weeks after the event.
Please note: This event recording will be much shorter than usual!
The philosophy behind this event is that expertise that can be “released” from within each of us, as we reflect upon our emotions and life experiences, and share them out loud with others in a safe and welcoming environment.
With this in mind, we’ll be in breakout sessions for at least half of this event. The facilitator will present insights and perspectives, but most of the value from this event is in the connections you’ll make with others. 💛
Given that breakouts are not included in a recording, this particular one will likely be less than an hour long; much shorter than usual. Please keep this in mind if your intention is to register for this event simply for the recording.
(And we warmly recommend you join us live on Zoom!)
Perspective Acknowledgment
BAAPT aspires to be ecumenical in nature, honoring and embracing diverse interpretations of personality type and the cognitive functions.
As with most of our events, this particular workshop reflects the views and interpretations of its presenter. It does not necessarily represent the perspectives of BAAPT, its volunteers, committee members, or Board of Directors.
While the facilitator draws inspiration from the work of Jung, Myers and Briggs, and other esteemed Type pioneers, the views he will share are ultimately his own. The perspectives and terms used during this event are not intended to be a direct reflection of Jung's or others'.
