Join us on June 20th for a special celebration honoring John Beebe and his extraordinary contributions to the typology community.


For more than four decades, Beebe's groundbreaking work on the 8-Function Model and archetypal complexes has shaped the way many of us understand personality, growth, relationships, and the journey of becoming ourselves. This event is an opportunity to celebrate his legacy, learn from his insights, and share how his work has touched our lives.


We hope you will join us for this memorable day of learning, sharing, and honoring one of the most influential thinkers in contemporary typology.



Program Highlights


Morning Session:

Broadcast News Through the Lens of Type

9:30 am - 12:00 pm PDT


Together we'll watch the acclaimed film Broadcast News, and identify the characters through Beebe's 8-Function Model and Archetypal Complexes.

How do your interpretations compare with Beebe's? 



Afternoon Session: 

The Evolution of the 8-Function Model

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm PDT


Hear the story of how Beebe's model developed over four decades and how it has influenced typology enthusiasts around the world.

Community members and attendees of Beebe's workshops will share personal reflections, insights, and stories about the impact his teachings have had on their lives and work.

Participants will have an opportunity to express their appreciation and tell John how his work has influenced their understanding of type, personal development, coaching, counseling, relationships, and self-discovery.

👤 ABOUT JOHN BEEBE MD

Beebe (ENTP) a former president of the C. G. Jung Institute of San Francisco, is a psychiatrist who specializes in psychotherapy. He is author of Energies and Patterns in Psychological Type: The Reservoir of Consciousness. In 2021, he edited a special issue of The Journal of Analytical Psychology in honor of the 100th anniversary of the publication of Jung’s Psychological Types. Beebe has spearheaded a Jungian typological approach to the analysis of film. His eight-function, eight-archetype model of type is widely studied and applied, including in the online journal Personality Type in Depth.
